Issue:
My Kodak scanner keeps powering off or sleeping after a short period of time between scans. Is there a way to adjust the sleep mode?
Solution:
The sleep mode or Power Saver setting can be adjusted from the Smart Touch menu or from Kodak's Scan Validation Tool.
To adjust the Power Saver setting from Smart Touch:
1. Make sure the scanner is powered on.
2. Click the Smart Touch icon from the Windows Task Bar.
3. Click "Configure..." to open the Smart Touch window.
4. Click "Settings..." from the bottom of the window. The scanner Settings Shortcuts window will appear.
5. At the bottom of the window, click "Settings >" and then select "Device >" from the following menu.
6. The Power Saver setting is located under the "General" tab.
7. Adjust the power setting using the slide bar or the "minutes" field, then Click "OK" to save changes.
To adjust the Power Saver settng from SVT:
1. Make sure the scanner is powered on.
2. From the Windows Start menu, select "Kodak", "Document Imaging", and finally "Scan Validation Tool".
3. Select "TWAIN" under "Driver Types" as well as the driver that corresponds to your scanner model from the "Drivers" list.
4. Click the "Setup" icon. The scanner Shortcut Settings window will appear.
5. At the bottom of the window, click "Settings >" and then select "Device >" from the following menu.
6. The Power Saver setting is located under the "General" tab.
7. Adjust the power setting using the slide bar or the "minutes" field, then Click "OK" to save changes.
