Issue:
Is it possible to autopopulate index fields from text on a document in SAFE's Batch module?
Solution:
Yes. Batch is equipped with a feature called Zonal OCR Assisted Indexing, which is used to identify areas (or "zones") of data on a Tiff, recognize and read the data as text, and populate the values into specified index fields within a document naming template.
Note: to setup data zones and zoom locations, see Knowledgebase article Configure Zonal OCR Assisted Indexing for SAFE Batch.
1. Click the "Batch" button from the panel bar at the bottom left of the SAFE Dashboard.
2. Make sure "Manual File Mode" appears in the Batch toolbar.
3. Run Auto-Indexing and File
A. Highlight the document to file from the thumbnail list.
B. Select the Repository, Cabinet, Folder and Tab for filing.
C. Select the previously configured naming template.
D. Click "Auto Populate Segments" from the Batch toolbar.
During the auto-indexing process, each field will highlight yellow until a result is rendered.
E. Click "File Document" to file the document to the SAFE location specified step 3B.
